From 1 April 2020 Buckinghamshire residents will be able to get information, advice and support on a range of services and topics across 17 Council Access Points in existing council buildings and locations in Buckinghamshire.
While a growing number of people use our online services, we know that some people need extra support and guidance to help them access council services.
Council Access Points (CAPs) will keep the new council close to local communities and make it easier for people to get the information and support they need close to where they live or work.
What support and information is available in a Council Access Point?
People will be able to get face to face help on the spot from council staff in locations they currently use to access council services, such as council offices and libraries.
Staff will be on hand to guide people, signpost them to help and support them with online services.
Five ‘access plus’ points located in the current council main offices in Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Amersham and Denham will offer additional support for more complex enquiries.
Council Access Points will:
- Be open to all with drop-in access via advertised opening hours
- Help people use our self-service for council services
- Have staff or volunteers available to answer common enquiries face to face
- Provide meeting space for individual support
- Provide a drop in space for specific sessions such as planning, housing advice, councillor surgeries
- Be based at the heart of local community life in existing council buildings throughout Buckinghamshire.
