Rachael Shimmin has today been announced as the Chief Executive of the new Buckinghamshire Council, the unitary authority which on 1 April 2020 will replace the existing county and district councils.

The inaugural meeting of the Shadow Authority to create the new Buckinghamshire Council took place on 3 June at Adams Park.
The Shadow Authority brings together all current county and district councillors, meeting for the first time in their role to oversee the creation of a brand new council for the county.
